Hey steve sherron can you play downloaded movies from pirate bay to your
roku like pirate movies? subed
You sound like Tom Hanks.
Pretty nice tutorial on how to play your own videos through a player, but
it’s not about streaming video. Streaming video would be over the network
like say from a network drive. Sorry.
Steve. You need to update your understanding of the difference between
STREAMING and PLAYING FROM CONNECTED MEDIA. It would be really helpful if
you changed the title of this video to HOW TO PLAY YOUR OWN FILES FROM AN
EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE ON ROKU to help people avoid being disappointed that
you don’t actually talk about streaming (which is wirelessly playing from
an external source). Thanks.
What is wrong with this guy?
Didn’t work for me they need VLC player on there channel list.
This is simply using Roku as a regular media player. Can anyone tell me if
Roku 3 can be made to actually STREAM live internet tv on my tv set?
Streaming is when you have media over network. This is just playing off a
local drive.
The new Roku Media Player App can anybody feel me in on how this new App
functions? Can I stream content from computer?
fuck yeah
Hi Steve… You’re calling it a ROKU SDX box. On ROKU’s website, the
products they have listed are ROKU LT and ROKU 1, 2, and 3. I see that
your video is a few years old, so I’m assuming the one you’re using in that
video isn’t made anymore. Do you know if the new models will still do what
you’re showing us here…the ability to watch your own media via a USB
drive? I have an old MacBook, so Apple TV and Chromecast won’t work for
me. I think ROKU will if the models they have now will do what your video
shows. I’m asking you because yours is the first helpful video I’ve come
across, and I thought perhaps you’ve been keeping up with the models and
will know what I’m asking. Thanks!
Wow,yall just jump all over the guy! Hes just trying to help.Give him a
break.
This is not “streaming”. This is playing off an external hard drive. I
want to know how to stream from a DLNA server on my network.
I just plug my ext hd right to my tv directly. use tv remote. work great.
all movies, musics, pictures
streaming is through a network..not plugging a physical drive into a usb
port. just an fyi..
Not really sure but I think so.
@ssherron1 Sorry if that sounded super harsh! I’ve been trying to mess with
the Roku all day and I’m about to pull my hair out! I got really excited
when I saw your video title. I was quickly deflated because it wasn’t what
I was looking for… You can understand, I’m sure…
big deal they have 5 yr old dvd players that can do that ..
You almost have me convinced lol
Can you loop or auto repeat a video in a USB device?
Please change the title to say “Playing your own media from hard drive,” it
is not streaming. Streaming involves sending data over a UPnP/TCP/etc
interface to another device on your network, not a physically attached
device.
