wow this would be amazing, i want like 1 month battery life
It’s just a first prototype, too. In a few years these phones will be quite advanced.
What interests me is that little plastic thing. You send image to it, can disconnect it and walk around withit, or reconnect and update the image. Can see potential in terms of passies, tickets and things like that.
Typical US american … i’d keep arguing that charging daily vs. weekly means your battery dies off 7 times faster (or mention a number of situations where you don’t have electricity for days), but i’d bet by the time you’d experience any considerable battery life degradation, you’d already have replaced even your next phone.
Enjoy your blissful ignorance brought to you by consumerism, i’m out.
Buy a cellphone recharger?…
“and a little less battery life”
You’ve GOT to be kidding me! 1 week vs. 1 day is a “little” difference?
Dude I would die….
Cameraman learn to adjust focus….
IMO, they are just aiming at the wrong market, sure the eager crowd that wants fancy high-end (i)Phones don’t want it, but for factory environments, door to door sellers and so on it is great: low cost per device and longer battery duration. The company I work could use device likes this (data collector) to replace our highly expensive ones, just need to add bluetooth and a crappy camera with a very good LED flash.
I think this could be very useful for the markets of developing countries, but also for e.g. tourists and adventurers who spend a lot of time in the nature far away from towns and villages. I personally like the e-ink technology, I’ve been a proud owner of a Kindle 3G for two years and I can say it has a lot of promise.
It has a Web browser, you can call people, and I have a few ideas for it:
– Put an mp3 player in it
– Put an old school ‘Snake’ and ‘Pong’ game on it
If they do this 2 things I gona buy it and a lot of other people, too.
Why is the presenter constantly apologizing about the bad usability of the phone?
