Useful Internet Explorer Shortcuts
Internet explorer shortcuts can speed up web surfing. Most people feel that the Internet Explorer lacks in a lot of features and decide to use other browsers.
Some even think that Internet Explorer is more prone to getting hit by virus infections, which is half correct.
If you get your computer updated regularly with latest updates, there is nothing to fear. Windows is one of the biggest platform dominating the computer industry. There is actually a fixed standard in browser shortcuts that are the same no matter which browser you choose to use. Just like the usual copy and paste commands that work almost the same in every application.
1. Type the name of the site you wish to go to in the address bar and press CTRL + Enter together and it will fill in the .com for you.
2. Press the CTRL and scroll the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the font size. Alternately, you may also press the “+” or “-“ instead of scrolling the mouse
3. Press and hold the Shift key and scroll your mouse to go back one page or move forward by one page. Or hold the Alt key and press the arrow keys on the keyboard for the same effect.
4. Press Alt + D to go to the URL bar quickly to enter another URl.
5. Push the scroll button once and your mouse turns into a scroll lock to scroll quickly down. Or press the spacebar while viewing a page to shift the page in stages downwards in areas you have not read.
6. F4 key will open up the dropdown menu of the address bar for you to pick a list of previously entered URLs.
7. F11 for full screen or presentation mode.
8. F5 to refresh the current page.
9. Type your search directly into the URL bar and it will automatically key in the search for you based on yourdefaultsearch box that is selected on the right side of the URL bar.
10. F3 key to open the search box, or also known as the CTRL + F
11. Press CTRL + N to start another browser page.
12. Press CTRK + T for a new tab
13. Hold the Shift key as you click on a link to open up the link in a new page.
14. Hold the CTRL key as you click on a link to open up the link in a new tab.
15. Press the Esc key to stop images that are flashing to read what is on it.

control + shift + P will bring up a new window with IE in “private mode”, disabling some addons and not storing history, cookies, passwords, etc on close. Won’t completely protect you from yourself online, but might protect you from leaving an easy trail to follow :)
